Narendra Modi
Narendra Modi is the current Prime Minister of India. He was born on September 17, 1950 in Vadnagar, Gujarat, India. His father was a street merchant and Modi helped his father sell tea at the Vadnagar railway station as a child. He completed his secondary education in Vadnagar and later received a degree in political science from Gujarat University.
Modi became involved in politics at an early age, joining the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a right-wing Hindu nationalist organization, in 1971. He later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a political party with close ties to the RSS.
Modi held several positions within the BJP and the government of Gujarat before being elected Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001. He served as Chief Minister for three terms, during which he implemented several economic and development initiatives in the state.
In 2014, Modi was elected Prime Minister of India, becoming the first Prime Minister from the BJP. He was re-elected in 2019 and is currently serving his second term in office.
During his time as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has implemented several economic reforms and initiatives, including the demonetization of high-value currency notes and the implementation of a goods and services tax. He has also focused on foreign policy, seeking to strengthen India’s relationships with other countries.
