About Manu Bhaker
Manu Bhaker was born on 18 February 2002 in Goria village of Jhajjar district in Haryana to a Jat family. From her childhood, she was fond of games that’s why she played multiple sports like martial arts, boxing, tennis, and skating with national-level achievements. Her father’s name is Kishan Bhaker he works as a chief engineer in the Merchant Navy. Her Mother Sumedha is a schoolteacher. Manu’s favorite food is Aloo ke Paranthe. Shooting as Career
Soon after the RIO Olympics, Manu Bhaker found a love for shooting when she was 14 years old. Her father invested 1.5 lakhs in training and after that, there was no looking back. She started her International career in 2017 and achieved success rapidly. In 2017, She won the silver medal in the Asian Junior Championship. Soon after that. She got 9 Gold medals in the National Games held in Kerela with a record-breaking 242.3 points.
Youngest Indian
In the International Shooting Sport Federation World Cup 2018 held in Mexico, she became the youngest Indian to win a gold medal at the World Cup at the age of just 16. She beat 2-time Champion Mexican Alejandra Zavala in the Women’s 10-meter air pistol. She won the second gold in the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event paired with Indian Om Prakash Mitherval. In 2018 She won the 10m Air Pistol gold and became the first Indian shooter and female athlete from the country to win gold at the Youth Olympics.
Achievements
- Manu created history by winning the gold medal in the women’s 10m air records at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She became the youngest Indian player to win a gold medal in this association.
- In the 2018 SS SF World Cup, Manu won the gold medal in the 10m air mixed team along with fellow player Om Prakash Mitharwal.
- In the 2019 SS SF World Cup, Manu won the gold medal in the 10m air Olympic individual tournament. She achieved this feat by breaking the world record score in the final.
- In the 2021 SBSF World Cup, Manu won the gold medal in the women’s 25m tournament. Along with this, she also won the gold medal in the 10m air mixed team sports.
- Manu has included three sports for the 2024 Paris Olympics – 10m air independent team, 10m air independent team and 25m air independent team. She is India’s representative at the Paris Olympics.
- Manu Bhaker has also become the first Indian player to win a medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics. By winning the bronze medal, she has proved that she is no less than anyone else.
Olympics
In May 2019, she received a qualification for the Olympic Games in the Munich World Cup in a 10-meter pistol event in 2020. When she led her, she was forced to lose her weapons a few days after her pistol was stuck in a 25-meter pistol final. In the 2024 Olympic Games held in Paris, Manu Bhaker became the first women shooter from India to win a medal. She won a Bronze medal in the Summer Olympics.

After winning Bronze in the Paris Olympics 2024, In an interview, Manu Bhaker said “I read Bhagavad Gita a lot. It has helped me. As Lord Krishna says ‘Focus on Karma, not on the outcome of the karma’ -that is what I did in the final moments”. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also called and Congratulated her.
