Kuppusamy Annamalai – BJP Leader from Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu BJP Politician Kuppusamy Annamalai was born 4th June 1984 in Karur, Tamil Nadu. Before coming to politics he was a civil servant in Karnataka police. He quit his job in 2019 when he was working as a DCP in Bengaluru. He is referred to as ‘Singham‘ of Karnataka Police.

In 2007, Kuppusamy Annamalai did his B.Tech from PSG College of Technology in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. After that in 2011, he completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the IIM (Indian Institute of Management) Lucknow. During his college, Annamalai was the secretary of the Samvedi society. He was also part of the Entrepreneurship Club at IIM (Indian Institute of Management) Lucknow.
Kappusamy Annamalai was a 2011 batch IPS officer who served in various parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Annamalai was the Assistant Superintendent of Police of Karkala, Karnataka from September 2013 to December 2014,
He was appointed the SP (Superintendent of Police) of Udupi, Karnataka in January 2015. From August 2016 to October 2018, In Chikmagalur of Karnataka, K. Annamalai worked as the SP (Superintendent of Police). He then served as the DCP (Deputy Commissioner of Police) of South Bangalore in October 2018 and continued the position till September 2019.

Kappusamy Annamalai joined BJP (Bhartiya Janta Party)
To engage himself in Social service he quit his job and decided to join the BJP ( Bhartiya Janta Party). In a press conference, he said, ” I was considering my options over the last few months but finally I have decided to join the BJP and start my political career. I see I am a natural fit there (in BJP).”
On 25 August 2020, He joined BJP and subsequently, the Bhartiya Janta Party appointed him as Vice President of Tamil Nadu. In 2021, he contested the State Assembly elections but lost to the DMK candidate. He has a huge fan following on social media and is very active. He has more than 6 lakh followers on Instagram and over 7.5 lakhs on Twitter. He has also written the book Stepping Beyond Khakhi.
On 27 February 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu. While addressing he said, “This Kongu region of Tamil Nadu represents India’s growth story in many ways. It is one of India’s most vibrant textile and industry hubs. It also contributes to our country’s wind energy capacity. This region is also known for its spirit of enterprise. Our risk-taking entrepreneurs and MSMEs play a role in making us the fastest-growing economy.”
“I have also witnessed how every section of society has shown their support and blessings for the BJP during this journey. I especially congratulate our young and energetic colleague, Annamalai. He has taken the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayaas’ from this journey to every home,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.
He said, “My connection with Tamil Nadu is not political but from the heart and decades old. The soil of Tamil Nadu has always given me boundless love. The ‘En Man En MakkaL’ journey is taking Tamil Nadu on a new path.”
“Those who looted Tamil Nadu for decades are now nervous about the growing strength of the BJP. They want to save their seats by lying, dividing the people, and creating conflicts among them. However, the people of Tamil Nadu are not only pure-hearted but also wise. Their truth has come to light. Their true colors have been revealed. That’s why now the people of Tamil Nadu continue to trust the BJP,” he added.
