Bhartiya Janta Party dominance in Bengal and Karnataka
Exit polls are not always right as they are just predictions. Polls have predicted that the BJP will do better in Bengal, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu (because of Annamalai) than in previous Lok Sabha elections. In the 2019 elections, the BJP won 303 seats and with alliance, NDA got 352 majority. Congress got 52 and with alliance 91. This time BJP has predicted 370 seats and 400+ with NDA.
Opinions of Political Party Members
BJP candidate from South Chennai, Tamilisai Soundararajan, “Results are on June 4. Exit polls have revealed that PM Modi will be the Prime Minister for the third time. In Tamil Nadu, we (BJP) will be getting more seats than the predictions…’ Dravidian model’ is a failed model. We are very happy that BJP is making a mark in Tamil Nadu politics.”
INDI Alliance rejected the Exit Poll and its members said, “The outgoing PM, the person who will have to leave for sure on June 4 has conspired all these things and has managed the exit polls. There will be a huge difference in exit polls and results of June 4. INDIA Alliance had a meeting yesterday, we had detailed discussions on numbers, it’s impossible that INDIA Alliance will get anything below 295.” Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said.
Tamil Nadu BJP person Annamalai said, “I am equally delighted at the in states like Tamil Nadu, where I belong, the vote share is going up…in Kerala, Telangana and all parts of south India, people have decided that this time they will stand with PM Modi.”
“Heartfelt gratitude to our outstanding security forces for their unwavering vigilance during the entire elections. Their efforts have ensured a safe and secure environment, enabling people to take part in the polling process with ease. Their service to the nation is deeply appreciated by each one of us,” says PM Modi to security forces for Lok Sabha elections.
Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh said, “This exit poll has been prepared in the BJP office… Who will believe that BJP is getting a 34% vote share in Tamil Nadu? Who will believe that AAP is winning 0-2 seats in Punjab?… The ‘Janta ka exit poll‘ based on the figures shared by INDIA alliance leaders in today’s meeting says that we will win more than 295 seats… I am surprised that only 400 seats are to the BJP (in the exit polls). They could have given 700, which could have been possible from ‘Akhand Bharat’… The BJP has done a huge ‘hera pheri’ (foul play) and to hide that, such numbers are shown in the exit polls…”
